Barton Stacey Parish Plan

Update October 2005

Funding of £750 has been awarded by Hampshire County Council to enable us to carry forward this work and the following milestones have been suggested by the group.

  1. An 18 month timetable to complete the 10 Year plan with a series of further consultation events on areas of specific interest to parishioners and invitations to volunteers to participate in practical activities. Within this period, it is intended to encourage and co-ordinate the completion of specific enhancements to provision within our community.
  2. The group wish to complete the following over the next 6 months;
    • Seek to reach agreement with the MOD to make the tennis courts between West Road and Bullington Lane, available for all parishioners with a booking system centred on the village shop.
    • Seek to reach agreement on opening up sections of the Dever for public recreation and enjoyment.
    • he setting up of a Duke of Edinburgh's Award group for young people aged 14+ in the village.
    • Seek to provide a responsive method of gathering ideas for new activities from parishioners which can be publicised, supported and co-ordinated by the group.
    • Seek to expand the membership of the group.
  3. Communication is important for the success of this project and links will be created for news, information and ideas via;
    • The Village shop noticeboard.
    • The Village website.
    • The Dever News.
