Minutes of meeting held 29 September 2003

1. Apologises for absence received from Mike Oxlade who had a previous arranged commitment.
2. The meeting Commenced at 19:30
3. The Minutes to the last meeting were revisited and 3 amendments have been made.

   Matters Arising

4. Comments were made relating to the Longparish Parish Plan and generally we were pleased to see that their Committee had started and completed some very good projects and it highlighted that we need to get the whole village community involved and supportive of the Plan in order to make a impact.
5. Martin reported that the Lower Dever News article had not been instigated.

   Action: Martin to write article.

6. Syd reported that the Financial Plan is in the process of being completed and it was agreed that we apply for the maximum assistance. Once the Financial Plan has been forward to TVBC then we should approach the Parish Council to consider increasing the precept as their budgetary meeting will on 3rd Thursday in February.

   Action: Syd to take these matter

7. Jan and Derek both attended the Youth Council meeting and Jan was able to provide us with a brief synopsis. However, it was agreed that this is still very much in its infancy and should be left to develop for the time being with Jan and Derek to report on any further meetings. It was noted that the Youth are the future of this village and their inclusion on the Parish Plan is vital.
8. The Registration form from the Countryside Agency has been received. Each Committee member has been given a guidance sheet and comments should be made on this and returned to Syd before Christmas

   Action: Each Committee member to review guidance sheet and return to Syd ASAP.

9. The Committee felt it was now time to move the process along and have agreed that an all day “Exhibition” take place on Saturday 28 February 2004 in the village hall. The next Committee meeting will be used solely to plan this event.

   Action: Each Committee member to come to the next meeting armed with all suggestions on how to proceed and the categories that we want to explore.

10. Jan advised the Committee that although a considerable amount of effort had go into a Village Design Statement that it was never completed and should be reinstated and include within the Parish Plan. The Housing Needs survey it appears, is still with TVBC and results are yet unknown.
11. The next meeting has been arranged for 12 January 2004 in the Village Hall at 19:30.

The meeting closed at 9.10 pm.
