20 Oct 2006 Housing survey results

[ Housing survey results ] Majority support provision of affordable housing on Site 2A. Council now moving forward with interested parties.

There was a good support for the survey, with 232 electors views represented - a turnout of 32%, the same as for the recent parish council election, and better than for the general election.

The key results are:

  • 97% of voters support for provision of affordable housing
  • 59% of voters support use of Site 2A

A full summary of the survey has been published on the web site here.

Following the survey, the parish council accepted that with an overwhelming majority in favour, this gives a clear statement of support for the provision of affordable housing in Barton Stacey on Site 2A.

The council will continue to work with people in Barton Stacey, and with Community Action Hampshire, Hyde Housing, Test Valley Borough Council and the Defence Estates to move the work forward.

The council is particularly concerned that everyone who is insterested in takin up one of the affordable houses is properly resgistered for this - both with Test Valley Borough Council and with Community Action Hampshire.
