28 Jun 2006 Parish Plan update
GeneralThe group is preparing the final stages of the draft document following the parish consultations of 2005. We are aiming to finish the draft of the document by September and to produce a copy for every household by December. The DocumentThis intended to be a permanent, accessible reference for parish life and the basis for the future development of our community. All newcomers to the Parish will receive a copy to enable them to settle more easily into their new surroundings. This document will include a history of the parish, a timetable of parish life, our clubs and societies and a supplement giving details of local business and trade services. There will also be a suggested 10 year development plan for the parish to consider. FundingThe group has received £750 from a special county village development fund but we are seeking to double that amount to enable us to produce the Plan Document. To that end, we are inviting local tradespeople and businesses to make a one-off advertising subscription to the business supplement in the document. Community development workThe group is also engaged upon new initiatives to enhance community life;
Future developmentUpdates on our work will be publicised locally on the village website, in the Dever News, the Shop and local notice boards. Inquiries, ideas and comments are always welcome from parishioners – please contact me.
