11 Nov 2003 Parish close in web award
Barton Stacey's web site - www.bartonstacey.com - was pipped at the post in the Hantwebs Awards category for best parish council site in Hampshire. The Barton Stacey site - which won the award last year - was joint runner up with Fawley Parish Council to the category winner to Grateley Parish Council. The judges said the Barton Stacey site was "welcoming and informative"
Webmaster Andy Glenister, who collected the certificate for runner up, said "The winning site is very good and shows what can be done. The challenge for Barton Stacey is to make sure that we're in the final again next year. I'd welcome the involvement of anyone who's interested in helping with the site in any way, whether in design, providing material, or giving technical assistance." The Barton Stacey site is packed with information about the village, and is open for anyone to add their own news, events, and small ads using a simple "fill in the blanks" approach. Local clubs and businesses are also very welcome to use the site to publicise their activities and services. For more information about the Barton Stacey web site use the contact page or phone webmaster Andy Glenister on 01962 761 444. Full details of the Hantsweb Awards are available on the special web site. The finalists were:
