29 Apr 2003 wwwanted: Web site help!
Barton Stacey web site - www.bartonstacey.com - is looking for help. Last year the site won the Hanstweb 2002 award for the best parish council web site - the judges said: The site combines well designed clarity and crispness with robust up-to-date information. Now webmaster Andy Glenister is looking for wider involvement, aiming for active participation from a broad cross section of the community - local people, youth, clubs, and businesses - to improve the site. Don’t be put off by thinking this is all very complex or a technical computer thing. Of the five broad areas which need help - listed below - four of them aren’t technical at all. Help is needed in
To help with the 'thinking' side, all you need is a willingness to work with others to share and develop ideas. For some parts of the 'doing' side, don’t even need your own computer. If you have material to go on the site - this could be local knowledge, photos, news, views, or information - you could share this so that somebody else could add it to the site. For other parts of the ‘doing’ side you will need to have your own computer, and then it depends on whether you want to help out with the 'content' side - writing articles for the site - or with the 'technical' side - loading material onto the site. Overall, it needs people who want to paint a picture of Barton Stacey as an interesting and pleasant place to live, somewhere with an active and supportive community culture. Perhaps you could help by bringing along your ideas, your local knowledge, an ability to write articles, or your PC technical skills. If you'd like to learn more about the web site or to talk about how you might be able to help, then please call webmaster Andy Glenister on 01962 761 444 |
