10 Oct 2002 Parish wins Hantsweb award
The Barton Stacey web site won first prize in the Town or Parish Council category of the Hantsweb Awards 2002 The competition was organised by Hampshire County Council to recognise web site excellence in the county.
The Barton Stacey award was collected by Sally Merison, chairman of the Parish Council, and Andy Glenister, webmaster for the site, at the presentation ceremony on 10 October in the Theatre Royal, Winchester, presided over by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Commander Miles Carnac-Rivett RN DL.
The Hantsweb Awards 2002 competition attracted over 500 entrants in 9 categories. The judges comments were: The Barton Stacey website is very impressive. It combines well designed clarity and crispness with robust up-to-date information. There is a good comprehensive list of activities which reflect a vibrant community.
