Competitons and Gradings

In between national competition we have novice competitions for yellow belts and under.

Twice a year we have grading evenings.  Each judoka is tested on techniques learned and these must be demonstrated to a high level of skill.

The club has never dropped below 25 students and we currently have 35 under 16s . Not bad for a small village.  I need a bigger boat!! With the International Bushido Association (IBA) students cannot attain black belt grade until the age of 16 yrs.

At the end of each year I award a trophy to one boy and one girl. This is not for the highest grade or the best at judo, it is awarded for effort throughout the year. I would like to award one to everyone as I am extremely proud of them all.

Barton Stacey Judo Club is well respected throughout the Association, particularly for their team spirit at competition.
